Hartmann Elektronik develops and produces backplanes and „electronic packaging“ solutions in Stuttgart.

We offer a wide range of standard products as well as completely customized systems and you will always receive the most practical solution with regard to engineering and cost, and optimally suited to the task at hand.

Karlheinz Hartmann Elektronic GmbH was founded in 1971 by Karlheinz Hartmann, Albin Braig and Werner Fritz, initially extending and checking telecommunications plants.

1979 a printed circuit board production was built up in addition with own layout department. In this professional environment Karlheinz Hartmann Elektronic recognized the meaning of backplanes and introduced 1981 an own backplane production and development department.

Karlheinz Hartmann Elektronic was one of the first companies, which could produce backplanes with press-fit technology.

Production steps got automated by efficient soldering machines, a CNC pressing machine and the construction of SMD-assembly lines within the 90s. Our fully automatic test equipment guarantees highest product quality!

We make the complete production and testing in house, therefore we can offer a wide spectrum of standard products and individual systems economically in every lot size.

1997 Karlheinz Hartmann Elektronik GmbH changed into Hartmann Elektronik GmbH. In this time Hartmann Elektronik employed 80 staffs in 2 locations in Stuttgart.

In recent years the demands have changed, customers increasingly call for complete systems, optimised in relation to their individual applications. Therefore Hartmann Elektronik looked for a partner for the systems engineering. Today Hartmann Elektronik belongs to the Phoenix Mecano Group, which has his headquarters in Switzerland. With about 6000 staffs the stock corporation create a turnover of 530 million EUR worldwide.
