CPCI Backplane 3 U/6 U variant RB Standard

The RB variant uses the space, e.g. behind an 8HP-wide CPU, to provide additional space for plug-in connectors to supply the backplane with power. This means that no space goes unused in the card rack with this design variant.

The power supply to the backplane by means of an ATX connector and the wiring of fans and disk drives can therefore be implemented in a highly efficient and economic manner.

Variants available:

• 32-bit/64-bit
• 32-bit with rear I/O
• V(I/O) = 3.3 V or 5 V
• 33 MHz, 66 MHz (≤ 5 Slots)

CPCI Backplane 3 U/6 U variant RB Professional

The RB variant uses the space, e.g. behind an 8HP-wide CPU, to provide additional space for plug-in connectors to supply the backplane with power. This means that no space goes unused in the card rack with this design variant.

The power supply to the backplane by means of an ATX connector and the wiring of fans and disk drives can therefore be implemented in a highly efficient and economic manner.

Additional terminal bars are available for systems with a power consumption of more than 300 W. These permit each individual partial backplane to be supplied with power separately. Even rear I/O boards can be inserted in all slots.

Additional plug-in/screw connections for all supply voltages permit individual wiring.

• 64-bit (≤ 8 Slots)

• 33 MHz, 66 MHz (≤ 5 Slots)

In accordance with the specification, the 8-slot backplanes are equipped with on-board Schottky barrier diodes across from the system slot to guarantee optimal reliability and transfer characteristics. For this reason, the 8-slot backplane is 14 mm longer than the non-8-slot variants.

Backplanes with more than 8 slots come with a PCI to PCI bridge.

The extremely flat PCI to PCI bridge design permits seamless arrangements of cascaded backplanes without losing any slots.
